Kara Maria Ananda is a Women's Healing Arts Mentor, Visionary Business Coach, Speaker and Writer.
She has over 20 years experience as a wellness entrepreneur in massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, women's health, childbirth education, doula care, teaching and coaching.
Currently she shares her passion for conscientious living, creating leading-edge global online educational programs and offers women's empowerment coaching.
Kara is a graduate of the Brenneke School of Massage extended professional licensing program with internships at Swedish Medical Center & Heritage House Nursing Home in Seattle, WA.
She is Certified in Bodywork for the Childbearing Year, a Level III Reiki Master and Teacher, and a Certified Infant Craniosacral Therapy Practitioner. Her training includes reflexology, lymphatic massage, Swedish massage, injury treatment, energy medicine, aromatherapy and more.
She's also a graduate of the Seattle Midwifery School's birth and postpartum doula programs, a Certified Doula with the Pacific Association of Labor Support & Birth Arts International, a trained childbirth educator with the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators, and has worked with several regional and global birth organizations for maternal and infant health.
Kara is the creator of several online global training programs in women's healing arts education and entrepreneurship, including the Awesome Birth Teacher Training, the Women's Healing Arts Teacher Training, the Healing Arts Business Academy, and CONNECT: The Social Media Course with students from all over the world.
She is the author of the book "How to Have an Awesome Birth" and her articles have been published in many magazines and websites including Nurture: Australia's Natural Parenting Magazine, Midwifery Today, Conscious Dancer, SageWomen, Massage Australia, and HipMama.com, as well as having been translated into several languages.
The Kara Radio Show and Podcast was featured as a top new podcast on iTunes in the Health and Self-Help categories in 2014.
As a dynamic and engaging speaker for workshops, keynotes, retreats, and conferences, Kara has presented at events including the Midwifery Today Conferences, the Association for Pre and Perinatal Psychology and Health Congress, Epic Eden Hot Springs Retreats, the Bali Spirit Festival, Sacred Circularities Movement Retreats, Hoop Camp Retreats, Hoop Convergence, the HipMama Gathering, and more. She has experience presenting wellness trainings for organizations, corporations, colleges, schools, and businesses including Renton Technical College and Seattle Metro.
As a passionate supporter of healthy living, when she's not writing, teaching, studying, or researching, Kara is often found exploring in nature, hiking, hoop dancing, making nourishing foods and spending time with her husband and three sons.
